Product Description A cherry Corvette Stingray. A gorgeous girl. And a summer in glittery Las Vegas. What more does a guy need for the wildest weirdest funniest freakiest time of his life? Mark Hamill (Star Wars) and Annie Potts (Designing Women) make comedic and romantic sparks fly in a revved-up tale of car-brained Kenny (Hamill) trailing a Corvette that's mysteriously boosted after his high school shop class restores it to perfection. The trail leads to Fun Capital USA and a ditzy diversion (Potts) whose dream is to become - a hooker! This damsel-in-distress needs a white knight on a candy-apple metal-flake superior-mags mercury-tubes steed - right Kenny? Both are in for a summer they'll never forget.Running Time: 105 min.System Requirements: Runnin Time 105 MinFormat: DVD MOVIE Genre: DRAMA Rating: PG UPC: 012569675568

great 70's flick October 13, 2008 Robert S. Preston (portland oregon) luke skywalker as somebody else. i can still remember my older brother taking me to see this so many years ago. big star wars fan so anything with luke in it i had to see. great 70's flick. reminds me of the old days
A Showcase of Mark Hamill and the Vegas of Yesteryear April 15, 2008 B26354 (Atlanta, GA) An engaging period piece about a high school grad from a broken home (gypsy-like, yet caring mother and altogether absent father) in a desperate search to find the stolen Vette he helped restore in his high school shop class. Did California public schools have funding for that kind of project back in 1978? Probably not, but this movie is a superb showcase of Mark Hamill's physical acting ability and agility, natural comedic talent, and is a great historical recording of the Vegas of yesteryear. Also has a great plot twist and some bad guys who are really, really BAD guys. And I'd like to think that even back in the 70s it was not a common thing for high school graduates to pursue prostitution as a career choice (even if college wasn't an option), so suspend your disbelief and enjoy Annie Potts' comedic portrayal of a sometimes-unstable yet adorable protagonist and Hamill's eventual, true ally.

One of my favorite coming of age movies September 21, 2007 James J. Varela (Sarasota, FL United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I remember this movie well. First saw it on HBO in 1979 and it is one of my favorite coming of age movies. The Custom Corvette used in the film has been bashed by Corvette fans since this movie came out and with good reason, it is utterly hideous. Annie Potts is simply beautiful in this movie and although this was supposed to be Mark Hamil's post Star Wars debut, Potts, then an unknown, steals the movie. Our generation ( I was born in 65) will love this movie. Younger people will be puzzled by it.
