Although not made as a TV movie of the week, it may as well have been. Molly Ringwald plays an industrious teen headed for college who finds herself pregnant and heading toward disaster in this trite morality play. She pouts and cries a lot; she tries to make everything better. She can't. Things get worse, but she just bounces back. To be fair, this does delve into serious issues. Also, it was produced at a time when most teen movies were either lightweight vehicles by John Hughes or gory slasher flicks. It just feels too contrived, and too glossy, to be taken seriously. This sentiment is underscored when Ringwald and her young hubby seem to be making it as a couple, which is hardly the reality of most teen marriages. --Rochelle O'Gorman

5 out of 5 stars For Keeps   November 3, 2008

I love this movie! Two Teens who live next door suddenly discover the girl is pregnant. It is very well acted and shows some of the trials of thinking marriage is a fairy tale.

4 out of 5 stars I always loved this movie   October 23, 2008
Glenda Boozer (Douglass, Texas)
This is a great movie for anyone who has ever been a parent or thought about it, and for anyone who believes in love. It is the story of two young, bright teenagers who conceive a child at a time that is inconvenient for them and for their families ("You had a hamster; you didn't feed it; it died."), but who choose to commit themselves to each other and to their little one. It is not made to look easy, because it isn't, and they have every sort of doubt and trouble that you can imagine. Are they better off separated and off to college? Can they bear to face that option? Watch it.

5 out of 5 stars Young Love   February 21, 2008

I thoroughly enjoyed this coming-of-age movie. It dealt with teenage love, sex, marriage, and grown-up responsibilities with compassion, honesty, and humor. I do not think it trivialized teen pregnancy at all, but rather showed both its hardships and the ability to do it right if one tries and has support. I fully recommend it to all ages.

I love the drama between two people that are the same age as me. I am currently going through the same bad time witm my boyfriend. I hope we are able to overcome the fights and money problems like them. It openned my eyes and I just loved this movie.
