Worth the money June 14, 2008 Douglas Thompson This movie was good for a couple reasons. One it was well written and two it has a good leading cast. The director did a good job presenting the material so people who don't care about horses should still enjoy this film.
Delightful! May 15, 2008 John M. Patterson (Lampasas, TX United States) If you like horses, kids or Walter Matthau, you'll love this film. Especially since it has all three. It's an absolutely delightful, heartwarming and funny film for the entire family and Walter Matthau turns in his usual stellar performance.
great April 5, 2008 07br64 This is a great movie, I watched it as a kid and it is still just as good
Super Movie May 6, 2007 A. Kelley (Bozeman, MT USA) Casey's Shadow is one of my favorite movies. It is really a classic, especially for horse racing fans.
Excellent DVD! March 13, 2007 Lizzie (Columbia, SC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I thoroughly enjoy this movie. The acting is seemless--as if you are watching a real family interact. Walter Matthau is a horse trainer and father. His son, Casey, is a young boy whose best friend is a foal called "Casey's Shadow." Against all odds, the two-year old horse becomes a million-dollar champion. However, the story does not end there, which is one of many reasons that this film has such depth.
