Product Description In a series of flashbacks, Ted tells the story of his group of twenty-something friends and their relationships with other people and with each other.
Amazon.com No other sitcom is as gleefully inventive as How I Met Your Mother. The basic setup is familiar stuff: Five charming, good-looking twentysomethings pal around New York City seeking love and happiness. But many episodes have a narrative trick. For example, when his friends try to persuade Ted (Josh Radnor) from going on a date with the doctor removing the butterfly tattoo he got while drunk, their justifications send the show careening back and forth among three interconnected flashbacks. Other episodes repeat scenes from different perspectives, or leap forward, or interrupt scenes to provide necessary exposition. None of this is groundbreaking, but it is consistently smart and clever--and when combined with crisp comic dialogue and zippy performances, it's pure sitcom delight. This is a show that manages to make a gang's in-jokes actually funny. Season Three is absolutely essential for any fan of the show, because this is the season we actually meet the title character; after two years of preamble, the mother to Ted's unnamed kids finally appears! But there are abundant other reasons to get this season, including Marshall (Jason Segel, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) buying a crooked apartment, Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) getting the yips and getting slapped, and the return of Robin Sparkles, Canadian teenybopper alter-ego of Robin (Cobie Smulders). There's a wee bit of unfortunate stuntcasting (though she doesn't embarrass herself, Britney Spears still sticks out by dint of sheer inescapable celebrity), but it's a minor flaw in an all-around superb season. Add in an abundance of commentaries, featurettes, music videos, additional scenes, and How I Met Your Mother: Season Three is clearly a must-have for fans and a great introduction for newcomers. --Bret Fetzer

the show is amazing, but DO NOT purchase from youlikethat July 29, 2010 Tara Stabler I think the show is great, but i want to make sure that whoever buys this season, or any purchase at all, does not purchase from the company "youikethat".
i purchased season 3 and 4 from youlikethat, and when i received my packages, i noticed that season 3 had only disc 1 and 2 disc 3's. i notified amazon who said i would have to return the season and wait 4 weeks for my money back, then repurchase with a different company. i left a negative feedback for youlikethat and they promptly emailed saying they would fix the error. they asked for my info said it would be shipped, then completely stopped any communication- it has been over three weeks with no contact.
they have NO problem recieving a purchasers money and giving them a defective product, then apologize and sweet talk the buyer. once the buyer removes the contact, they skip town.
DO NOT BUY FROM YOULIKETHAT, THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY AND GIVE FAULTY PRODUCTS.
I'm Going to Teach You How to Live March 3, 2010 Adam P. Richardson (Philadelphia, PA) Speedy deliver. DVD received as advertised. Opened the package; put in the DVD; just push play... It another terrific season of HIMYM
Let's face it, you're hooked. Just buy this. February 20, 2010 Aaron Goodwin (Apple Valley, CA USA) This is one of the best shows on TV, and sadly I discovered it late. However, I to get the benefit of watching them in quick succession on DVD. My only complaint is that the bonus content, aside from commentaries, is fairly sparse by today's standards. The fact is you can finish everything within a couple of days. Still, it's more than worth the price. Just pick it up.
punch ted in the face! February 1, 2010 Angry Orange 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
DVD performs as usual with minimal packaging, cheesy intro song (different from original theme song). The show has been watered down by the network when compared to season 1. The guy Ted is a loser!
How i met your mother is legen wait for it dairy January 3, 2010 tv person (place) A Lot of people say that the third season is only okay and not up to the qaulity to the first two seasons but i think that its better than the other two seasons. they were both great but i think that this one is better and the fetures on this set is amazing too. This season reminded me alot like scrubs style which is a great show and i officly think that after this season and the fourth and fifth that i ve seen that it can become in the ranks of sienfeld friends cheers A.D 30 rock the office scrubs and i'm pretty sure the big bang theory modern family and glee will be with it soon and the honey moon videos or great and some great episodes or the third whell slaps giving there hilarious
